Our Model

Northstar Academy South Bay is a two day per week homeschool enrichment program built around project-based learning, communication development, mentorship, mixed-age learning communities, physical wellness, and character growth. Families continue academic instruction at home during the remainder of the week using tools aligned with their child’s individual needs, while we provide structure, guidance, and accountability to support steady progress.

Rather than traditional grade levels, Northstar Academy South Bay is organized into multi-age learning communities that reflect stages of growth and readiness. Each community is designed to support students developmentally while encouraging steady progress in confidence, independence, and character.

Scouts (Ages 5–8)

Scouts focus on building strong foundations in academic skills, communication, and positive learning habits. Through hands-on exploration and structured routines, they develop curiosity, confidence, and the ability to learn well within a community.

Explorers (Ages 9–12)

Explorers deepen their academic understanding while strengthening reasoning, collaboration, and ownership of their goals. At this stage, students grow in independence and begin to recognize their strengths and interests through meaningful projects and guided mentorship.

Navigators (Ages 13+, Future Expansion)

The Navigators community is planned for future years and will not be offered during the upcoming school year. This group will be designed for students stepping into greater leadership, academic depth, and purposeful direction as they prepare for high school and beyond.
